About

Founder, Lava Media and Passionate Advocate Against Wrongful Convictions

Host, 'Wrongful Conviction with Jason Flom' and 'Righteous Convictions' Podcasts

Former Chairman, Atlantic Records, Virgin Records/Capitol Music

Inaugural Board Member of the Innocence Project

Jason Flom has been a passionate advocate for the unheard for over forty years. Along his path from the mailroom of Atlantic Records to becoming the storied label’s Chairman and CEO, and from being a founding board member of the Innocence Project to his stature now as a globally recognized leader in criminal justice reform, Jason’s superpower has been his ability to hear and amplify the voices and stories that he knows the world needs to hear. It’s impossible to come away from a conversation with Jason without feeling inspired and able to do more good in the world.

As the founder of Lava Media, which encompasses a record label, music publishing, and a fast-growing podcast company, Jason's typical day ranges from discovering and launching superstar artists including Grammy-winners Lorde and Greta Van Fleet to advocating with elected officials and policy makers, activist groups, celebrities, and other philanthropists to reform the inequities in the criminal legal system. On Lava for Good Podcasts' 2021 Webby Awards-honored Wrongful Conviction with Jason Flom series, Jason has interviewed and raised international awareness for the cases of Brendan Dassey, Rodney Reed, and hundreds of other innocent men and women imprisoned for crimes they didn’t commit, many facing death sentences. Jason also hosts Righteous Convictions, a podcast that spotlights today's social justice leaders and change-makers to uncover the most powerful actions we can take together to inspire meaningful reform and equal justice.

In 2021, Jason was featured in the Billboard Change Agents list of leaders who stepped up in a year of social and political turmoil. Whether championing an unknown singer to stardom, a social justice startup to prominence, or a wrongfully convicted death row inmate to freedom, Jason’s keen ear, infectious dedication, and relentless pursuit of good music and equal justice for all makes him one of the most uniquely influential and intriguing figures of our time.
